Just announced by Movado is its new Connect 2.0 smartwatch, the brand’s follow-up to its first smartwatch that was released in 2017. I got to spend some time with a 42mm Connect 2.0, but first a quick rundown of what’s new: Two smaller case size options, interchangeable straps, GPS, heart rate monitoring, a rotating smart crown, programmable pushers, and the new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip (1GB RAM /8GB storage are the big updates and changes.
The first generation of the Movado Connect was sleek, but the case size was 46.5mm-wide. This hefty case size led to a pretty self-selecting buyer pool for the Connect, but Movado clearly took this feedback to heart by significantly downscaling the size and offering two options. The Movado Connect 2.0 will be available in 40mm-wide and 41mm-wide cases. I wasn’t able to spend time with the smaller 40mm version, but I have to say that the 42mm felt pretty ideal and not at all bulky or chunky. The finishes are really well done, and the black is sharp and minimalist in all the best ways.
What I really liked was that the Movado Connect 2.0 also has an easy switch interchangeable strap system. (Currently, Movado is offering a Milanese bracelet, leather strap, and fabric strap.) You just press the pushers on the back of the lugs and the strap comes out — I found swapping them to be very simple. I also want to note that I really like the lugs on this watch; they have a solid, architectural look to them, and the design works.
New to the Connect 2.0 are the programmable pushers on the right side of the case. These have always made sense to me for a smartwatch because they’re a tactile and easy way for a user to access shortcuts, while they look like chronograph pushers at a passing glance. Also new is a rotating crown, allowing the user to scroll through the interface by turning it. The first generation Connect only had touchscreen ability, which is still present, but I find some reassurance in the ease of these tactile additions.
The Replica Movado Connect 2.0 uses the Google Wear OS, compatible with Android as well as iPhone (though with limited functionality). You’ve got the standard functionality here with Google Assistant, Google Pay, Google Fit, Google Play, etc. There’s bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, as well as NFC.
Notably new functionality for the Connect 2.0 is the addition of a GPS and, what no smartwatch in 2019 can be without, a heart rate monitor for health tracking.
Memory and storage get a significant boost with the addition of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip. The Movado Connect 2.0 has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, which is up from the first generation model’s 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage.
Another are in which Movado did well is the caseback, which is done in ceramic. To charge the Connect 2.0, just place it on the charger and it magnetically snaps on. I didn’t have the full opportunity to see how long the battery lasts or how long it takes the watch to charge, though I did get from about 13% to 60% in what I remember to be a few minutes. According to Movado, the watch lasts 2-4 days when just on time-only mode, which means you’ll get through a day using it at full-functionality and it’ll need that nightly charge.
The AMOLED screen is always on, which is something carried over from the previous generation. Also, there are over 100 customizable dial variations at launch but I have to say that, given the modern, sleek design of the Connect 2.0, the Museum dial just looked the most, natural to me. The overall design here is top notch in both concept and execution.
The new Movado Connect 2.0 is one of the best-looking and -feeling smartwatches I’ve handled in recent memory. I was really happy to hear Movado took feedback into account and downsized the case, and having options in 40mm and 42mm is spot on. While limited functionality might not make this the ideal choice for iPhone users like myself, I can see the Connect 2.0 appealing to a lot of Android users who want smartwatch functionality in a really well designed package.

Minimalism appreciation Movado Ruihong watch series
To a great extent, Movado replica watch tabulation has changed a lot compared with before. In terms of design style, many brands have abandoned the complicated design and replaced it with clear and concise lines. Among them, Movado replica watch is loved by more people because of its iconic compact panel design. Today, the watch house will come to appreciate a minimalist watch of the red series.
When brand design forms its own unique style, it represents people’s recognition and love for it. This is the case with Movado replica watch. Among the brands with the same positioning and pricing, why is it more popular with most consumers. The reason is closely related to its unique design and self style.
The design of this Ruihong series is similar to that of the brand’s iconic Movado replica watch Museum series. It is also a simple disk without time mark design. But what’s special about it is that it adds a date display panel at 6 o’clock (below the dial) and a red brand logo design, which gives this watch a little bit of brightness and practical performance.
The whole dial still adopts the minimalist design style. The design of the small second dial and the sword shaped pointer present a young and simple style.
The case is made of stainless steel, and various grinding methods are used to present different layers of styles.

The company was originally called LAI Ditescheim & Freres SA, which was founded in 1881 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. It was in 1905 that the name was changed to Movado, and in 1983 when it was acquired by American company North American Watch Corp.
The Movado Group is one of today’s premier watchmakers, manufacturing and distributing watches for the following companies: Movado, Ebel, Concord, Olivia Burton, Coach, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger, Scuderia Ferrari, Rebecca Minkoff, and Uri Minkoff.
Movado watches are Swiss-made. The company has manufacturing facilities in Switzerland and corporate headquarters in New Jersey.
The company’s watches are available all over the world. With watches all over North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and the Far East.
Movado has both luxury Swiss watches and what the brand refers to as “accessible fashion watches.”
The watch model that Movado is widely known for is the iconic Museum Watch, an elegant and unique watch that continues to be popular to this day. Designed by American designer Nathan George Horwitt in 1947, the timepiece was influenced by the Bauhaus art movement.
The design is one gold dot placed on 12 o’clock, which symbolizes the sun during high noon. Horwitt is quoted in the Movado website as saying: “We do not know time as a number sequence…but by the position of the sun as the earth rotates”.
This watch has become so iconic that it was selected to be part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City in 1960–the first watch that was ever given such distinction. It’s already the reason why it’s called a Museum Watch.
Today, these watches have different versions of the Museum Classic: 28mm or 40mm with different types of bracelets (stainless steel, mesh, crocodile-grained leather, and PVD-finished link bracelets), and different dials (black, blue, white mother of pearl). Some also have diamond markers, like the 28mm Women’s Museum Classic and the Men’ Museum Classic, which both have 11 markers.

Bangles Style
Movado has many models of bangle-style bracelets for women. The Aleena, Amorosa, and Rondiro are excellent for women looking for bangle-style bracelets. These are excellent for dressy occasions—the Amorosa, in particular, has stunning 18 diamonds on the bracelet.
There’s also the simple yet elegant 25mm Bela, which is what Movado refers to as a “fashionably slender bangle-style watch.” This watch has a PVD stainless steel case with sleek rose gold dot and hands. The Kora has the mother of pearl dial, and has different models—one has a yellow and gold PVD-finished case, and another has 11 diamond markers.
For those who prefer a thicker model, there’s the Masino, which is available in black and blue dials and gold PVD and plain stainless steel link bracelets. This one has models for men and women (40mm and 26mm), and has a women’s model lined with diamond hour markers.
One of Movado’s celebrity ambassadors is Kerry Washington of ABC show “Scandal.” She has been a partner of the brand since 2005. She has been spotted wearing different Movado watches in the show, with her Olivia Pope character gaining the company new fans.
Talking about the brand in an interview, Washington said: “The more I learned about the company and the more I met the people here, it just really felt like an authentic fit for me. I think so much of what Movado stands for are things that I aspire to in my work and in my life…elegance and classic design but with a modern flair.”
